# Explanation: site plan (sketch)

A **site plan (sketch)** is a simplified cartographic representation showing the geographical location of boreholes or projects in a real-world setting. It is often based on map data, e.g. from OpenStreetMap, and serves as a spatial guide.

Typically, a site plan contains:

- The positions of drilling points, usually represented as symbols or markers
- Labels for individual boreholes to ensure unique identification
- A map background showing roads, buildings and terrain features
- Scale information to help interpret distances

The site plan is used to quickly record the local distribution of boreholes and to clearly illustrate their location on the ground.
