# How do I use a QR code on my device without a camera?

Do you have a QR code to log in to BoreDoc using your device, but don’t have a camera or any way of scanning it? In this case, you can use the manual entry option instead.

On devices without a scanning function, the QR code option is usually not displayed at all. Instead, the manual entry option is available straight away.

Please note the following points, as this entry method is subject to certain restrictions for security reasons:

- Enter the ‘QR code’, not the ‘API key’. The QR code always begins with the prefix ‘QR-’.
- When entering the code, please ensure you use the correct upper and lower case letters.
- Various restrictions are in place to protect against attacks, such as brute-force attempts. There may be waiting times between entries, the number of simultaneous manual entries is limited, and further security mechanisms are in place.
