# Information required for a borehole profile

The data for the **borehole profile** is compiled from several sections of the respective borehole.

In order to create a complete borehole profile, both the geological information and the technical lining of the borehole must be maintained.

The content is maintained as follows:

- **stratigraphic index**: The geological stratigraphic sequence is defined via depth intervals in stratigraphic index. Soil types and their properties are recorded there for each layer.
- **Well completion (lining)**: The technical lining of the borehole, e.g. solid casing or filter pipes, is recorded in the “lining” section. Multiple strings within a single well can also be recorded here.
- **Display in the document**: In borehole profile, the first entry recorded, lining is currently displayed.
- **Borehole data**: General details such as the starting point or final depth are taken from the borehole’s master data.

The borehole profile combines the geological and technical data into a single representation of the subsurface and the borehole lining.

Maintenance notes:

- Ensure that the depth intervals in the stratigraphic index are complete and consistent.
- Maintain the casing as it is to be presented in the document.
- Check whether the basic borehole data, such as final depth or starting point, are already complete.
- Please note that changes to strata or lining have an immediate effect on the borehole profile.

If you have not yet maintained the geological strata, please read the help text **stratigraphic index** first. For the general basic data of the borehole, please refer first to the help text **Borehole Master Data**.
