# How do you use BoreDoc on multiple devices at the same time?

To use BoreDoc on multiple devices at the same time, you first need a device on which you are already successfully logged in. You can find out how to log in under [Registering as a BoreDoc user](AKXYUZ_registration-boredoc-user.md). On this device, you can generate additional API keys, which can then be used on other devices.

Open BoreDoc on the device where you are already logged in and navigate to **Settings > Account details > Device management**.

In Device Management, you can manage existing API keys. You can customise names, permissions and notes, as well as change the validity period. An API key can be deactivated by setting the ‘Valid until’ date to a time in the past.

You can create new API keys using the ‘Add API Key’ button in the bottom right-hand corner. You can generate multiple API keys at once and set their permissions directly. Once the process is complete, an email containing the generated API keys as a PDF will be sent to the email address you originally used to log in.

By scanning a QR code from this list, additional devices or users can access the account. If a device does not have a camera or scanning is not possible for other reasons, the code can alternatively be entered manually.

Notes on using the service on multiple devices:

- Where possible, create a separate API key for each additional device.
- Assign meaningful names so that devices and accesses can be more easily identified later.
- Deactivate API keys that are no longer needed, rather than passing on the same login details indiscriminately.

Further information can be found in the help articles [How do I scan a QR code?](9E3A8H_qr-code-scannen.md) and [How do I use a QR code without a camera on my device?](FKBCKW_qr-code-ohne-kamera.md).
