# Information required for a sampling report

The data for the **sampling log** is recorded in the **Sample Index** section for the respective borehole.

Entries are made within the borehole in the **Sample Register** section, which is located below the drilling sections and layers.

To ensure a complete sampling log is created, the individual samples must be uniquely identified and assigned to their actual depth.

The details are maintained as follows:

- **Individual samples**: Each sample is recorded separately and identified by a unique designation, e.g. B1 or B2.
- **Depth specification**: Samples are defined by a specific depth within the borehole.
- **Sample type**: The type of sample, e.g. a disturbed soil sample, is recorded in a structured manner.
- **Additional details**: Optional information such as length, diameter or comments can be added for each sample.
- **Automatic sorting**: The samples are automatically listed in the document in ascending order of depth.

The samples are recorded independently of the layers, but can be assigned to the corresponding sections of the borehole based on their depth.

Maintenance guidelines:

- Assign unique sample identifiers without duplicates.
- Record the depth of each sample as accurately as possible.
- Add additional details if these are relevant for later analysis or documentation.
- Check whether the samples correspond technically to the documented layers and borehole sections.
