# Information required for a borehole profile (Geothermal energy)

The data for the **borehole profile (geothermal)** is consolidated from the same areas as for the conventional borehole profile.

The geological information is recorded in the section **stratigraphic index**, whilst the development of the borehole is documented in the section **lining**.

To ensure a complete borehole profile for geothermal energy can be created, both the geological strata and the installation of the geothermal probe must be maintained in a traceable manner.

The data is maintained as follows:

- **stratigraphic index**: The sequence of geological strata is defined via depth intervals in stratigraphic index. Soil types and their properties are recorded there for each stratum.
- **Excavation (lining)**: For the geothermal probe, the ‘lining’ section records the full depth range within which the probe was installed. It is not necessary to break this down into individual components of the geothermal probe, such as the probe head.
- **Automatic display**: The graphical representation of the geothermal probe, including typical components such as the probe head and connections, is generated automatically in the document.
- **Diameter**: The diameter shown in borehole profile is derived from the available borehole and backfill data.
- **Borehole data**: General details such as the starting point or final depth are taken from the borehole’s master data.

The borehole profile for geothermal energy supplements the geological representation with the installation of the geothermal probe and automatically generates a suitable graphical view from this.

Maintenance guidelines:

- Record the depth range of the geothermal probe fully and accurately.
- Ensure that the strata, lining and backfill are technically consistent.
- Check that the basic borehole data, such as final depth and entry point, are already complete.
- Note that changes to the strata, lining or backfill will immediately alter the representation of the geothermal borehole profile.
