# Feature description: BoreDoc sharing

To use BoreDoc sharing, you will need an internet connection and a subscription plan that unlocks this feature.

BoreDoc sharing enables team collaboration across multiple devices. Data records are organised into workspaces, where individual access rights can be assigned.

Typical use case: Collaboration within a company. All participants use the same account; for example, one employee plans in the office, another records data on site, and a third prepares the documentation.

Another use case is collaboration with external partners, such as subcontractors with their own accounts. The workflow remains the same; the only additional step is to set up the appropriate access rights.

BoreDoc is designed for use without a permanent internet connection. Before editing, a data record is locked on the server for other users, so that it can only be edited by one person at a time. This process therefore requires an internet connection.
