# Registering as a BoreDoc user

Getting started with BoreDoc is quick and easy. Once you’ve opened the app, first choose whether you’d like to register as a new user or transfer an existing account to this device.

Then enter your email address; if you are registering for the first time, please also enter your name. In the next step, you will receive a one-time password by email. Once you have entered this password in the app, your account will be verified and a new API key will be automatically generated for you to use. BoreDoc is then ready to use straight away.

The API key generated has full access rights within your account and can be used to create further API keys. For further information, see the article [How do I use BoreDoc on multiple devices at the same time?](howto_use_boredoc_on_multiple_devices.md).

This process can be repeated as often as required. API keys that are no longer needed can be deactivated, but they are retained and can be reactivated at any time if required.
